LG Ad Inaccurately Portrays Mating Positioning Of Gastropods
Showing snails fucking is seemingly a clever way to visualize the benefit of a camera phone's longer video recording time: ha ha, stupid snails do everything slow. Well, horny gastropods do apparently go through a pre-banging mating ritual that can last 2-12 hours. However, the act itself is over pretty quickly. But more importantly, the critters' reproductive openings are near the front of their slimy bodies. So they are positioned like this or this when they shoot the sherbet. Not in the "doggie" style position. Duh—he'd be fucking her shell. Plus, all land snail are hermaphrodites. So the ad is a fail, Team Young & Rubicam Dubai. Here at Animal, it is not only my job to protect the world from bad ads, it is also my duty to protect the animal kingdom from advertising abuse.

Dear Copyranter,
Let me assure you that at Team Y&R we love all animals, especially gastropods. Believe it or not, we researched the mating positions of snails before we did the ad. There are hundreds of pictures on Google on the very subject.
Although we'd hate to misinform the public on the thrilling topic of snail sex or offend any mollusc maniacs, it's just funnier this way. Besides '69' and 'missionary' just didn't work.
Finally, we do believe in truth in advertising. Just as long as it doesn't get in the way of comedy.
Regards,
