Watch Gilf Totally Destroy a Kitchen for Art

February 6, 2014 | Andy Cush

“Surplus Candy,” the street art show in an abandoned East Village building we covered last month, featured a kitchen that was thoroughly demolished and covered in work. By the looks of this video, it was in pretty good shape until the artist Gilf got to it: her performance piece Define Progress basically entailed her smashing the shit out of the room and everything inside. You can watch it above, set to Gesaffelstein’s “Hate or Glory.”
