Visualizing the Electromagnetic Fields of Your Gadgets

Who knew that our everyday electronics emanate a hidden beauty? In a recent project, Copenhagen-based designers Luke Sturgeon and Shamik Ray made the unique electromagnetic fields floating above our laptops, radios, and speakers visible to the human eye.

The duo created “light paintings” of the EMFs with their Android app utilizing the phones built in magnetic sensors. The results are oddly mystical, in a miniature Pink Floyd Laser show kind of way.
