Don Hertzfeldt on Vimeo on Demand

March 12, 2013 | Marina Galperina

Indie animator and cult hero Don Hertzfeldt has finished his renowned tour of It’s Such a Beautiful Day, the last of three connected epics — heart-wrenching short films documenting the life and trials of Bill. There’s something very wrong with Bill. Giant fish-heads come out of his skull.

Hertzfeldt is as known for his stick-figure, hand-drawn style and immaculate, crafty optic composites of everything from dripping water to scintillating trick lights, as he is for telling devastating, gently-demented, Kafka-esque tales and commenting on the meaning of everythingBaby killer balloons, anyone? Since Rejected, he has been everywhere from Cannes to Sundance to deep inside my heart forever… and now… He is Vimeo’s first ever on-demand artist.

If you didn’t get to see it and you’re too far away to buy it or you simply must have it now: Here it is in HD! Available for one week. Watch the trailer above.
