The Brooklyn Bridge was the victim of a hit-and-run Tuesday night when a crane barge being pulled by a tugboat struck the underside, tearing a gash in the work scaffolding affixed to the bottom of the iconic structure. Witnesses who saw the brutal accident say the “Thomas Dann” just kept on going. Authorities temporarily closed the span to vehicular traffic as officials familiar with these kind of things, inspected it. There was reportedly no permanent injuries to people or the bridge. It’s a good thing it was low tide. (Photo: beanhead4529/flickr)
