I first saw Brother Ali (touring with Atmosphere around IRELAND! promoting The Undisputed Truth). He has such a genuineness to his words (whether on an album or in an interview) and this is the reason he is loved. Hope he never stops painting the bowl of fruit his way.
"It's not that I don't know what to write. I know exactly what to write. It's that I'm scared how it will be received." Oh, yeah.
@alphakitty That sentiment can be applied to action/inaction as well as writers block. You know what needs to be done/said, but you are not sure what will happen if you do it/say it.
I was really touched how he shared his experience with self-doubt and suicide. Thank you for this video.
I am a self-employed commercial artist ( music t-shirts ) and creative block is a daily hurdle. The one thing that helps is having enough RAW MATERIAL available that is relevant to your subject. It's like clay and you work it with your fingers. Thank
god for the internet. I did come from the old school before the internet and the big difference is people seemed to expect less then. We are living in hyper times now – and it all has to be instant and good. Back breaking.
