According to a study at University College London, right-wingers have larger amygdalas — areas of the brain associated with fear and anxiety, meanwhile, their anterior cingulates — areas associated with courage and optimism — are smaller. Scientists can’t tell if conservatives were born or bred to be afraid, but the poor phobics can’t help it.
