While they’re technically not as evil as circuses—Ringling Bros. in particular—zoos are basically public animal torture centers for human enjoyment. But, if you’re gonna operate one, might as well have some hyenas! For the first time in 30 years, the Bronx Zoo has restocked its supply of the notorious cackling scavengers reports the City Room. The fresh pair of siblings were born at the Denver Zoo last year, given Swahili names, and will live out the rest of their cramped, miserable lives in the Bronx. Welcome to the city Kubwa and Kidogo!

It's great to hear of animals coming into the great Bronx Zoo, instead of the vice versa. I know that Denver's hyena exhibit is one of the best, so these hyenas are sure to be in good health. They will make Bronx's already excellent African area even better.
