Messed up models, Somali pirate portraits, mutilated Mass Appeal, and piles of flesh will be displayed in a new exhibition at Long Island City’s Dean Project. “Question[ing] the validity of popular culture imagery as an accurate representation of contemporary society,” “Mirror on Mirror Mirroed†features artists Barbara Weissberger, Karlos Carcamo and Nicholas Kashian messing with appropriated images from Hip Hop, news and pop culture. The group show opens from 6 to 9 Pm on September 19th through November 19th at 45-43 21st Street.
